Behaviour in Raids

Anyone who has not done much raiding may be surprised how different raiding is to casual play. There are different expectations of behaviour and performance. A progression raid isn't just a hangout on an evening. 20 people have come together to achieve a common goal. Many people will have worked hard to just be there and be ready for the occasion. Please respect that and be on time and prepared.

Chatting is usually OK (and encouraged) during trash fights. However, please keep quiet in raid fights as raiding requires clear communication. It should still be a fun social event, but keep chatter to the correct times!

Please do not ignore other players questions. Ignoring the raid leader (either by keeping quiet or by "zoning out" during explanations) is very bad. Countless hours are wasted through wipes, misunderstandings or people not listening, so please pay attention during the raid.

Performance of other players shouldn't be called out in a public forum by anyone except the raid leader and officers. However, this should be balanced; discussion is OK but repeatedly calling out the performance of others could be considered bullying. Thus, the policy is "please don't" unless there is a specific discussion occurring where a player is asking for feedback.

The Officers are not all-knowing and they do appreciate individual or group performance advice. Feedback will often be solicited between pulls. They deal with many whispers throughout a raid, and there are many discussions in the officer channels. We encourage this feedback, as it informs the decision making process. Alternative strategies are often discussed and most boss kills come from raid-wide collaboration. However, please keep this to a message to the Officers/GM so it is manageable.

To be clear, the correct way to do raise an issue about someone else (performance or otherwise) is to do it to the Officers/GM who will then deal with it appropriately.

If there is feedback, please take it on-board; while criticism can feel very personal, staying calm and listening is important. Please use this as an opportunity to improve your play.
